Shekina Barber

Shekina Barber is a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly a decade of licensure experience, currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Shekina has a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. With over twenty years of experience in the social services field, primarily as a case manager, Shekina is also a Certified Case Manager. 

Shekina’s therapeutic approach prioritizes the needs of the clients, employing a client-centered methodology that fosters a collaborative and secure environment. Shekina firmly believes in the principle that practice cultivates health, and she is dedicated to helping clients develop and utilize healthy skills to support them on their life journeys.
